Someone on my Facebook news feed shared a link for this trailer.  I'd never heard of it before and it looked good, so I watched it. It comes out on the 14th of February.  What do you think?  Does it look good?   Tell me what ya'll think! Blessings, Sarah

Smoothing the edges

Image
I've mentioned that I like Nancy Leigh DeMoss' books before, but the one that some of the ladies in my church are doing as a group study has been eye-opening and convicting. For more information, click  here. During discussion time, one of the ladies in our study mentioned (for we were discussing being hurt by others and how we must forgive  - even if we don't want to or don't "feel like it") that sometimes God brings certain people into your life to smooth out your ruff edges; like they are the sandpaper that He is using to soften our roughness.  I think she called them "God's sandpaper". I let that sink in for a second.  In my vain mind, I thought that the people that God brought into my life were the ones who needed changing, not me!  I didn't think that I could be effected in that way.  Not once did I ever stop to think that maybe, just maybe God is using this group of believers or non-believers (in other situations it may not be ...

Truths to remember

Image
Awhile a go I read a book by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, called Lies Women Believe and the Truth that sets them free .  It was a game  life changer for me.  If you've not read the book (or done the study, which I highly recommend!), then please look into it!  If you're interested in reading the book or doing it as a study for the ladies in your church, click  here . After reading the book, I decided to write down the Truths in the back of my notebook.  While flipping through that notebook the other day I decided I wanted to share some of them with you today.  Like I said, it was a life changer for me and just now coming back to these truths I find how much I've allowed myself to "slip up". Truth #1.   God is good.  "Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statues." Psalm 119:68 "O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever." Psalm 136:1 Truth #2. God loves me and whats me to have His best. "He tha...

Will you speak?

Image
It's the new year...5 days into it now.  I came across this verse while reading through the book of 2 Chronicles.  I wanted to share it, but never did.  Well, now I am. :) "And Micaiah said, As  the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak." 2 Chronicles 18:13 "... even what my God saith, that will I speak." The question for me right now is this: Will I honor Him in my speech this year...and the next?  Or even today? Think of all the men and women who gladly died for their Savor - without question or doubt they went to the grave for their Lord because they truly knew "...to live is Christ, and to die is gain." (Philippians 1:21) I know this is where I struggle: speaking up when I should.   Why yes, you DO make me nervous!  How about you?  Do any of you struggle with this fear?  I have to remind myself how many times God says "Fear not" in the Bible. He says "fear not" over 100 times!   Lord, remind me! ...

Have yourself a merry little...

It's that time of the year!  Time for hot cocoa, blazing fires, and snowshoes - depending on what part of the world you are from, that is. :p Time for families to get together and enjoy one another...and in my home, enjoy one another with fellowship and lots of yummy, forever old recipes that make the most delicious food! :) Hoping that each and every one of you enjoy this time of the year while it lasts, because before we know it, it'll be 2015!!  Lord, where has this year gone?  I seems that just yesterday it was January and I was trying to grasp 2014, but then again, it feels like a lifetime ago.  Maybe it's the whole "getting older" thing...I don't know, maybe. Lord be with each of us as we venture into this week.  Be with our families and loved ones who we aren't able to spend this holiday with.  Merry Christmas, everyone!! With love, Sarah                         ...

Okay, this is funny

Okay, this IS funny!  I mistakenly posted  this  not an hour ago.   The post I "posted" that I was talking about (the 2014 Recap) somehow ended up back in my edit box!  It's no longer "viewable" on my feed and I'm not sure how that happened.  :-p  Too funny, ya'll!

Mistake...

So I unknowingly posted my "2014 Recap" post before it was ready. :-p  I am still in the process of editing it and somehow I guess I clicked the "Publish" button.  Oh well! Read and weep for it's a raw post and I'm still not done with it. Sorry for the mistake. But in the meantime....I'm back to the blogging world and doing better (I plan to explain in another post). God bless everyone!
