He leadeth me

Hello, dear friends! I know it has been a good long while.  Maybe one of these days I'll have enough time to post on a regular basis!  This little post is just an update on where I am in my yoga journey; life, and just general things. One bit of exciting news is that I became an aunt again!!!!! :D :D  My brother Joseph and his wife Emily had a sweet little baby GIRL this week!  You can read about their wedding here:  Part 1 ,  Part 2,  and  Part 3.   Oh, what a beauty she is!!  I have TWO lovely nieces now! God is so good! Here I simply wanted to say that I am blessed beyond measure to be where I am - even though it terrifies me at times.  I am on a new adventure - one that I never thought I would be doing 4, even 3 years ago. It's funny, ever since I was little I always was interested in some form of anatomy.  How our bodies moved and which bones were connected to which.  It took me a while, but I found (well, I d...

A timeless gift

Image
My dear pen-pal and blogging buddy,  Heidi , gifted me with one of the most precious gifts I think I have ever received, a gorgeous tea cup and saucer!!!   First off, who doesn't love getting packages in the mail?  It's so exciting!  Seeing that someone went out of their way to actually mail  you something makes you feel super special!  I had had a pretty challenging week (click  here  to read more about it) leading up to my birthday so getting this in the mail felt like a sweet and cooling balm after a painful sting.  Here are some pictures I took... Ta-da!  I took "her" outside for a few pictures (thank you, Abigail, for letting me use your camera!)... Just look at that lovely pattern! And it pairs beautifully with a handmade potholder that my aunt bought from  an Amish store that she gave to me for Christmas. The elegant design of the handle, the gold-rimmed edges - it's simply beautiful!  And it's blue...

Count it all joy

I know that I should blog way more than I actually am, but it seems that even after all my school, I still have little time to just sit down and write!  So here is a little bit of something that I've been working on for a few weeks that I wanted to share with each of you. God, You are good.  Every single thing that comes to pass in my life is intended for my good and Your glory. I thank You. That sentence is easily proclaimed when times are good; family members are healthy, friends are abundant and faithful.  But, why it so very hard for me to utter when the sun sinks into the horizon, out of view and the day grows cold? My birthday week (the week of the 1st) I was tested in a way that I never thought I would be tested.  Due to "normal" routine with people who are prone to having seizures, I was scheduled by my doctor to have an MRI. I was a bit nervous.  My eyes were shut tight the whole time during the MRI.  I didn't dare open them for fear o...

Sit still

27.  A big and yet little number. Today is my 27th birthday.  Would you believe that I am actually writing this in January?  Yep.  I decided to go ahead and write this post a few months early because I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to say or how I wanted to say it.  Plus I wanted to give myself a while to sort things out.  27 is a big number after all - it's still very young, but it is a number nonetheless. So.  Here I am, 27 years have I lived (so far).  I never even thought of this number as a little girl. Even though I could count that high as a child, I never thought  of what it would be like to be "that old."  Some girls will tell you that they have been planning their future weddings since they were 6; dreaming about their Prince Charming.  Funny thing is that I never  thought of it.  Like ever.  There were times when my sister and I would play dress-up, but it was always Cinderella or Cowgirls. I nev...

A new month

Image
Happy March, my fellow lovelies! I just wanted to pop in and say hello to a beautiful new month.  I am planning on posting a bit more this month than I did in February (which I think was only two posts!). Be on the look-out for a new post because it's coming very soon! Blessings, Sarah

Who holds my comfort?

Image
I know that it's been a while since I last posted - sorry about that.  My family has been recovering from the same sickness that seems to be going around everywhere.  Hopefully, we're on the end tail of it now.  Also, my yoga training has kept me busy as well.  It's good to "see" you stop here, though!  I've missed ya'll. I like food.  Like a lot.  Let's face it, my culture is surrounded with food! Not long ago, though, I came across an article,  How Comfort Food Poses As Spiritual Food .  I read it and had some major conviction. You how when you're doing something wrong, you know it's wrong but you keep doing it?  Well, I've always felt that way about the way I deal/handle food.  I love food.  I cake care to make it, to share it.  I look forward to it daily and get excited when I can smell something wonderful brewing in the kitchen.  In the moment, food gives me what I "want".  It fills a desire -...

Listography - List #1...plus a movie

Image
So I think it's high time I did another Listography list! This one is out of my Listography - Your Life in Lists book.  I still haven't finished it (no surprise there). Like always, feel free to comment with your top 5, 10, or even 20! List the people from history you'd like to have a conversation with  Charles H. Spuregon George Washinton Abraham Lincoln Amy Carmichael Queen Elizabeth the 1st Martin Luther Anne Frank Jim Elliot Joan of Arc Princess Diana Leonardo da Vinci Michelangelo  Queen Victoria and Prince Albert  Margaret Thatcher Job (from the Bible) So there's my small list - I know I could add at least 30 more, but I shall refrain from boring you too much. Also, this just came to mind.  I thought about doing a separate post, but why not keep it together? The other day my sisters and I were watching To Sir, With Love.   Has any one of you seen it?  It's simply wonderful.  I could watch that movie over a...
