Sunburned?

It's the time for ice tea, ice cream, BBQ's, front porch sittin', and swimin'.  Ya gotta love summertime!  I do, for sure! =) Now what do all those things have in common?  Sun exposure!  And lots of it! Okay nobody - and I mean no body - likes getting sunburned!  I sure don't.  I always feel foolish afterwards, don't you? My sister and I went to the beach last week with a friend from church and we got burned!  Not on purpose, of course.   We have been using coconut oil as a natural sunscreen and it has been working amazingly...however, it seems that the coconut oil doesn't work - at all, mind you - near water, not sure why, but for some reason it doesn't work. If you found yourself with a little pink hue this summer, here are a few remedies that might help (the first one is a link to natural sunscreen and where to buy): http://www.aubrey-organics.com/Category/40_1/SPF.aspx http://media-cache-ec3.pinimg.com/originals/c8/e6/51/c8e651c3e50b69

Natural Deodorant

So it's been a few weeks since my last post. Here is the next thing I am planning on making: All Natural Deodorant. Why? Because the store-bought one I have (Secret - PH balanced, Spring Breeze) is filled with these: Cyclopentaslioxane, stearyl alcohol, C12-15 alkyl bezoate, PPG-14 butyl ether, hydrogenated castor oil, petrolatum, phenyl trimethicone, talc, cyclodextrin, fragrance, mineral oil, behenyl alcohol I copied that list of ingredients off of my current deodorant stick.   I can't even pronounce half of those! Why would I want my body to absorb these foreign things when I don't even know what they are or where they came from? Yes, it has taken me a LONG time to get started and actually  do this.  I had to put my big gal panties on and just do it!  If I like it, that's it.  No going back to store-bought deodorant.  I may try both of these: http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/candlemaking-soap-supplies/item/00alnade http:
