"...leavin' on a jet-plain..."

Okay, not really.  I just woke up with that song in my head and thought that it would make a good heading. I'm not even sure what the actual name of that song it...anybody? I know things here have been kind of slow/dry on this blog lately.  This summer has been busy and yet it hasn't.  You know how that is.  I'm just trying (like everyone else) to enjoy these special moments with my family and friends before things change - don't worry, they are good changes. :-) A dear friend of mine is going to be a mother this year and I couldn't be more excited for her and her husband. :-) This was us at her bridal shower last year. I think this was either January or February. And....my brother is getting married!!  Yes, that's right.  A wedding is coming up in our family and we are beyond excited!  I will of course be updating you guys with the happy details. :-) This is my brother, Timothy, at a friends wedding in 2012. It was western themed - which

His GEMS - Anna

So it's the last post in His GEMS series!  I've really been enjoying these postings, as I hope y'all have as well.  It HAS been TOO long since I last posted...sorry about that.  I kind of went through this faze of not posting - I'm sure you could tell!  If you want to go back and read my other postings, please  click here. By now you know that I am posting the meaning of my sister's names, so here it goes. Anna - gracious, merciful  So many people have commented on how well my parents named their children, and I have to say that they did do very well.  I love old-fashioned names, biblical names, and sometimes really different names.  However, I don't think I could name my child North.   While none of us have different or even odd names,  we do have old-fashioned/biblical names that I love and adore. :-) I have to say that I've really enjoyed putting these together. If any of you have sisters, or even brothers this would be a fun project to do

A very warm story.

I mentioned in  this  post that I had just gotten back from a trip with a humors story   (at least I thought it to be a humors)  that had to do with this lovely summer heat (note: I said that in a sarcastic tone).   My mom, sister and myself got to go to our grandfather's house - we do this yearly to check on things -  and we were informed by the air guy that we are really low on Freon ( "an aerosol propellant, refrigerant, or organic solvent consisting of one or more of a group of chlorofluorocarbons and related compounds." ). Air Guy said that we were going to have to change out the entire unit but he needed another guy to help him and wasn't going to get it done until the next day.  We agreed to see him the next day. "This works out better"  we said to once he left.  "We can spend today day shopping and such; come back, make dinner and  relax."  We did all of those things, expect the last part.  This is pretty much how we felt

Always remember

Today is the 4th of July. A to remember. A day to celebrate. A day to give thanks. May we never forget what this day is about: freedom. Which we have in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Freedom from Sin and Death. May we never forget those who died for this freedom as well. Many, so very many have paid the price with their blood; let us remember them this day. Blessings, Sarah May God bless you and this nation!

July memory verse

Okay...I'm back!  It's been too long - I know, part of that is due to my laziness and the other part is because I was on a mini vacation - which has a very amusing story that I'll share in another post. So July is here!  When, like when did this happen?  I was just getting used to the idea of June - even though that month was HOT!!  Psalm 113: 3 is my next verse to memorize for this year. Though I must 100% honest, last  month's  verse was hard for me because I wasn't very diligent about studying it or meditating on it.  Lord help me this month!  Give me the desire to want to know  Thee and Thy Word. Here it is. Psalm 113:3 "From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is  to be praised." KJV "From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD's name is  to be praised." NKJV "From the rising of the sun unto its going in, Praised is  the name of Jehovah." YLT Blessings, Sarah
