This recipe.

Have you ever had something so amazing you just couldn't believe it?  Have you ever come across a recipe that seems like it's just too good to be true, but isn't?  Well for me, yes and yes! This recipe. Is. Amazing.  I haven't done a post about it, but I've had to change my diet again - for more health reasons - and this time I've had to cut out ALL carbohydrates.  Yes, my life-long love affair with carbs is no more - BUT, I feel much better after having to cut them out.  It was hard to do, but again, I feel  better. :-) If you want the original recipe, click  here .  Seeing as how I can't eat the honey, I changed a few things about this already amazing recipe.    Looks good, right? Ingredients 1 1/2 cups walnuts Pinch of salt 1 cup dates - these are high in carbs, so I have to really limit myself with them 1 tsp vanilla 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder 3/4 cups coconut cream a dash of your favorite sweetner - I used  Xylitol  (you might

I posted  this  last week and I wanted to do a follow-up on part 2.  I wanted to ask this question and see if any of y'all can help me understand the answer - for I am having a hard time finding one:   Why do   some women of faith feel the need to push the line when it comes to dressing modestly? (bikinis, tight pants, peek-a-boo dresses, etc.) Some definitions of the word  modest  (according to Google):  :not too proud or confident about yourself or your abilities    :not showing of feeling great or excessive pride of clothing:  not showing too much of a person's body -  okay, why then, do some of you parade around in 'naught but your skin? I have this letter that I wanted to share - mind you I made the whole thing up, so none of it's real.  I just thought that maybe this would be an easier way to start the conversation. Dearest friend;  Thank you so very much for your sweet letter! Yes, all the children are doing well (I thought that I'd "spice&qu

I gotta say, this picture is adorable! Dressing modestly.   Yes, I am aware that it c an be a very touchy subject with some. However, it can also can be taken to an extreme - examples being, "your ankles cannot be showing" or "being modest means being free of covering up", or "just be YOU in whatever you want, God doesn't care about what you wear".  Can you really believe any of that?  I can't.  To say that in order for me to be "free" I must be be rebellious is just plain ridiculous.  I would like to ask you two questions: What does it even mean, to dress modestly?  More importantly though, what does God's Word say about the subject? I encourage you to really search out these questions; pray over them, and dig into His Word. Romans 12:2 says, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."   H

June memory verse

I apologize for being two days late in posting this!  Some crazy goodness has been happening around here - but that's for another post (note: it may take me a while to write).  It's June!!  Can you believe it?  Where did May go, people?  I know not... It's time for another memory verse post. :) If you are just now reading this and want to jump in, then you can go back and read my  first  post, then you can read my  latest  post in May. :) So June, besides coming in faster than I thought you would, I am glad that you are here. :)  There are things I am looking forward to this month and this year; all of them are wrapped up in God's goodness and mercy. The verse that I am memorizing for this month is Psalm 105:43, which says, "And he brought forth his people with joy, and  his chosen with gladness" Even though God's people went through SO much (most, if not all of it was due to their disbelief and lack of faith), He still brought them forth &q
