"God is good"

I know this is really short, but I read this on facebook this morning and it was just what I needed. 

"God is good is not a stale one-liner when all's happy but a saving lifeline when all's hard." Ann Voskamp 

Some times - well most times - I need to be reminded of the fact that He is good.  He is good not just now, when times are happy and people are well, but He is good even when things seem to be falling apart - or maybe they are falling apart!  Still, He is good.  Everything He does has an eternal purpose.  Now that's an amazing thought, isn't it?

 Remember, always remember:

 "O give thanks to Jehovah, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever." Psalm 107:1

New moth, new verse

It is April (if you already haven't had a chance to take a glance at your calendar)!  This is random, but for some reason when each new moth rolls around I associate it with a color - weird, I know - and this is the list of months typed in the colors that I associate them with: January  February   March  April  May  June  July  August  September  October  November  December I know, it's really weird!  :p Back the post. :-) Part of my new year's resolution was to memorize a verse each month and reflect on it throughout the month. I am on my 4th memory verse of 2014!  :-) How did I decide which verses to memorize?  Well, my parents got my sisters and I a new, beautiful calender at the end of 2013 that was full of Psalm of praise. Each month has a verse, so I thought, "why not just memorize the verse that comes with each month?" "What God hath joined..." Part 1

So this post has been a long time coming - my brother and his new bride's wedding pictures!! The wedding took place in the beautiful sate of Kentucky (to which I had never visited until September of last year) the first weekend in May. Here are some pictures of the day before the Big Day. My sisters and their new friend enjoying lunch outside  while making silly faces. :) This was walking into the room in which they were to cut the cake - beautiful, isn't it?  The floors creaked when walked upon. Isn't this just lovely? My new sister in-law painted them herself - and did a fantastic job.
